Anyone who knows me well knows that I am absolutely obsessed with natural beauty products.

What began as homemade remedies to tame my hair has evolved into a fascination with whole body natural skin care.

Somewhere along this path I encountered Dr Bronner’s 18-in-1 Pure Castile Soap.

This soap really does have 18 uses, ranging from mouthwash to shampoo, as well as shaving gel, and an all-purpose household cleaner. It can be diluted or used neat, and is packed full of organic and Fairtrade oils. All contained within a 100% recyclable bottle.

It is the bottle that I want to talk to you about today, or rather the words on the bottle.

Emanuel Bronner was a German born Jewish man, who left for the US in 1929. His family were a family of soap makers, and devastatingly his parents were killed in the Holocaust. This soap continues to be produced by his grandson, (Bronner died in 1997) and the philosophy captured in the labels is set to be reprinted over and over.

Emanuel Bronner believed in “All-One-God-Faith” and the “Moral ABC”.  He really did  equate cleanliness with  Godliness, and he wrote all of his beliefs on the side of his products.

Let’s look at some of the words in detail here:

“Poetry-Unity-Ecstasy-Love, evolving man above, above, above the ape! For any ape can have 5 minutes of sex within; Only man, absolute clean, reciting poetry, enjoys hours and hours of loving self-discipline!”

Emanuel Bronner

Poetry elevates the human consciousness and poetry does by no means have to be contained in a book to qualify.

It can be written on soap bottles, heard in musical lyrics or performed on stage.

Be the love quote

In the kind of world where people continue to be persecuted for their beliefs, this understanding that we are human beings capable of ‘clean’ deeds is precious. Each one of us has the ability to raise the individual and collective consciousness, to one of equality.

What kind of poetry will you make today? (and where will you put it?)

Much love Txx
