Creativity and Spiritual Awakening

“Poetry: Reaching into the innermost parts of myself, and bringing forth my most raw pieces.”

                                                                                                                       –  Toni-Ann La-Crette

A lot of the poetry I produce is so personal and sometimes harrowing, that I am afraid to show it to anyone.

I used to simply write for myself, as a form of release, when I felt like it was time to.

Then I got the idea into my head to do an MA in Poetry, and put myself out into the world.

Where did that idea come from?

It felt like a number of things came together and led me to that point.

I was working in a creative atmosphere, I met a wonderfully creative woman who became a dear friend, and I was at a cross roads.

I picked the road leading to creativity and it seemed to lead me to spirituality.

I joke with close friends about how I wish I had become a nun.

The idea of spending all my days praying for others and being in service to God sounds amazing!

I didn’t realise that I have had at my fingertips, a way to do that, all my life.

You see, I’ve always suspected that my poetry did not come from me. Words spill out and it feels like it is led from a higher place.

A place that is universal, that touches hearts.

A couple of weeks ago, I finally came to the  understanding acceptance that I am having a full blown spiritual awakening.

Well what do I do now?

#Life has opened up so much more when I found my inner light and self:)) #love and #inspiration:

I suppose I will take up the challenge of change, and go with it.

I will accept my sudden ability to read the Tarot.  I will accept my heightened awareness of  the energy this world holds.

I will accept with grace the desire to heal others, and in turn help to heal this world.

“What the caterpillar calls the end, the rest of the world calls a butterfly “

(Quote by Lao Tzu,  Tao Te Ching)

Because we are all constantly changing, whether we admit it to ourselves or not.

Because we are all here to be good – our conscience teaches us this.

Because we are all doing the best that we can.

Are you able to accept changes in yourself, as and when they arise?

As a pretend nun, I’ll pray that you can.

Much love
